Journeyman Electrician
This position is located in Dutch Harbor, Alaska with free housing
The Primary job responsibilities for the Electrical Journeyman position include, but is not limited to, assisting the Electrical Administrator and Electrical team in performing maintenance, repair, and installation for the utilization and distribution of electrical energy. Specific duties include installation of various electrical panel controls and monitoring systems, installation of lighting and lighting control, maintaining fire alarm systems. Install, maintain and troubleshoot level controls using multi-meter amp meters, mega meters, and volt meters. Troubleshoot and maintain 4-20 control, pressure control, temperature control and pneumatic control. Maintain MCC and lock out/tag out. Maintain machinery electrical systems on BAADER equipment, x-ray machines, and conveyers. Identify and comply with NEC requirements and required work clearance to ensure safe work practices under OSHA and WSI regulations. Assist IT department in data cables and time clocks. This position will also require working remotely when not onsite, other duties as assigned. Must have advance electrical trouble shooting skills.
Starting wage: DOE Status: Part-time Regular Non-Exempt Benefits: Housing, Meals, Transportation to/from point of hire, PTO, and 401(k) benefits upon eligibility. WSI has a zero tolerance Drug and Alcohol policy.
Requirements: Must hold a current Alaska State Certificate of Fitness Electrical Journeyman Card. Previous experience and working knowledge within the plant industrial maintenance environment is preferred. Qualified applicants must successfully pass a post-offer conditional drug screen. Must be able to read, write and speak English, and possess the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Must possess and provide a copy of a current Alaska, or reciprocal State, Journeyman card. If applicant has a reciprocal State licenses, then an Alaska Journeyman License must be obtained within a short time from date of hire, to be determined upon hire date. Must have knowledge of all State and Federal regulations regarding electrical, and be willing to ensure compliance to those and WSI's policies and procedures. Must be willing to work closely with the Safety Department, and have the ability to recognize, correct and report safety hazards. Must have verifiable work experience as a Journeyman Electrician and experience as a mechanical electrician is preferred. References will be checked. Must be able to read and understand complex control schematics, and have basic computer skills to research and order materials. Must provide own tools, including meters, metric and standard nut drivers, and combination wrench. Applicants must be willing to relocate, and live and work in a multi-cultural team environment.
